ABACUS
Abacus is an ancient method of doing basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division without using any gadgets, with speed and accuracy. This is for students from grades 1 to 5.
The principal features are:
- Course consists of 4 levels – beginning with simple additions and subtractions, using both finger theory and abacus instrument. Then the student gradually moves to complicated sums in more than 5 digits.
- Parallelly from level 2 onwards we start multiplication using abacus, starting with 1 digit multiplication and gradually progressing to 2 & 3 digit multiplications.
- From level 3 onwards begins division using abacus, initially single digit division and later progressing to 2 & 3 digit division.
- Special emphasis will be given to mental theory, wherein the student learns to visualise the abacus and perform all arithmetic operations in his/her mind.
- Customised plan of duration for each level, depending on student needs
